What it is

IGF-1 LR3 is a modified version of insulin-like growth factor 1, engineered to resist the body's normal binding proteins so it stays active in the bloodstream far longer than natural IGF-1. This makes it considerably more potent — and less forgiving — than the natural hormone.

This is one of the few peptides in this library where the safety risk is not just theoretical: IGF-1 has real, well-established blood-sugar-lowering effects, and case reports of dangerous hypoglycaemia with LR3 use exist. It is not a compound to treat casually.

The science, graded

What’s claimed — and how strong the evidence behind each claim actually is.

“Drives systemic muscle and tissue growth”

Consistent with IGF-1's known biology; controlled human outcome trials at community doses don't exist.

Claim-level citation mapping is in progress.

Preclinical · animal only

“Well tolerated at typical community doses”

Contradicted by documented hypoglycaemia case reports — this claim understates a real risk.

“More effective than natural GH-driven IGF-1 production”

A community belief, not something tested head-to-head in controlled human trials.

Legal and regulatory context

Separate summaries for Great Britain, the United States, and the European Union. These are preliminary research summaries awaiting independent regional review; they are not legal determinations or advice.

Great Britain

Preliminary researchResearch-only

Not a licensed medicine in the UK; a research chemical only, banned in sport under WADA. No legal route for human-use sale, and it carries genuine, well-documented safety risk (hypoglycaemia) beyond most peptides on this site.

This is preliminary regulatory research, not a reviewed legal determination or legal advice.

United States

Preliminary researchReview pending

Regional legal and regulatory review required before publication.

This is preliminary regulatory research, not a reviewed legal determination or legal advice.

European Union

Preliminary researchReview pending

Regional legal and regulatory review required before publication.

This is preliminary regulatory research, not a reviewed legal determination or legal advice.

What the community says

Regarded within the community itself as one of the higher-risk, 'advanced-only' compounds. Hypoglycaemia risk is one of the few safety issues discussed as seriously in forums as it is in the clinical literature.
