The quiet backbone: how we stay trustworthy.
Pepteca covers a subject where bad information can cause real harm. That means our method has to be visible, not hidden. Here's exactly how we work — and the rules we won't break.
Independent by design
We take no money to feature, rank, or soften our view of any peptide, vendor, or lab. Reviews and guides carry no vendor links. Where we're ever reader-supported, it's disclosed and kept away from editorial.
Evidence over enthusiasm
Every claim is graded on a fixed five-tier scale. A peptide can be wildly popular and still be graded 'preclinical' — popularity is not proof, and we never let one stand in for the other.
Law, stated plainly
Each peptide is placed in a UK legal lane. We separate the molecule (science) from the seller (trust), and we never present a research-only compound as if it were a consumer product.
How we grade evidence
The single habit that keeps this library safe is our voice: report the claim, grade the evidence, name the legal lane.Instead of “BPC-157 heals the gut,” a page reads “discussed for gut repair · animal studies only · human evidence limited · research-only in the UK.” Here’s what each grade means.
Multiple human randomised controlled trials, or an approved medicine indication.
Early or small human trials — promising but not yet settled.
Animal or in-vitro data only. Mechanism looks plausible; humans untested.
Community reports and self-experiments, with no controlled data.
A marketed claim with little or no evidence — or a leap beyond what data shows.
The rules we won’t break
- No vendor or affiliate links inside guides or per-peptide science pages — ever.
- Vendor and lab trust lives in a separate Reviews hub, never mixed into the molecule pages.
- We never tell a reader to buy, source, dose, or self-administer anything.
- We distinguish licensed medicines from research chemicals every single time.
- Corrections are made openly, and every page shows when it was last reviewed.
Compliance & disclaimer
Pepteca publishes educational information about peptide science, UK regulation, and community discussion. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a recommendation to buy or use any substance. Many peptides we document are not authorised medicines and are not legal to sell for human use in the UK.
We aim to reflect guidance from bodies such as the MHRA (medicines) and ASA (advertising), and we update pages as the evidence and the law change. Nothing here replaces a conversation with a qualified healthcare professional. If you are considering anything discussed on this site, speak to your doctor first.
