Growth hormone axis
IGF-1 DES
Des(1-3) IGF-1 · engineered · IGF-1 analog
A short-acting, localised cousin of IGF-1 LR3, favoured for targeted 'spot' injection — even less human data exists than for LR3.

What it is
IGF-1 DES is a truncated IGF-1 variant with a much shorter half-life than LR3, which the community uses for localised injection into a specific muscle rather than systemic effect. The theory is site-specific hypertrophy.
This is an advanced, niche compound even within an already-niche category. Its human evidence base is thinner than LR3's, and the same fundamental IGF-1 blood-sugar risk applies.
The science, graded
What’s claimed — and how strong the evidence behind each claim actually is.
“Produces localised ('spot') muscle growth”
A popular community theory; not demonstrated in any controlled human trial.
Claim-level citation mapping is in progress.
“Shorter, more controllable action than LR3”
Consistent with its known shorter half-life; not the same as a proven safety advantage.
Claim-level citation mapping is in progress.
“Free of IGF-1's blood-sugar risk”
The underlying hormone and mechanism are the same — this risk should be assumed, not dismissed.
Claim-level citation mapping is in progress.

Great Britain
Not a licensed medicine in the UK; a research chemical only, banned in sport under WADA. No legal human-use route, and it shares IGF-1's genuine hypoglycaemia risk.
This is preliminary regulatory research, not a reviewed legal determination or legal advice.
United States

What the community says
A niche, advanced-user topic even within IGF-1 discussion. Site-specific growth is treated as an interesting theory rather than a settled result.
