What it is
DSIP was first isolated from rabbit brain tissue in the 1970s and studied for its potential to promote delta-wave (deep) sleep and calm the nervous system. It has one of the longer research histories of any compound in this library, but that history is mostly small, dated studies rather than modern large trials.
Human trial results over the decades have been inconsistent — some showing sleep benefits, others showing little effect — and there's been limited modern research interest to resolve the discrepancy.
The science, graded
What’s claimed — and how strong the evidence behind each claim actually is.
“Improves deep (delta-wave) sleep”
Some older human studies support this; results across the research history are inconsistent.
Claim-level citation mapping is in progress.
“Calms the nervous system / reduces stress”
Commonly reported by users; not confirmed in modern controlled trials.
Claim-level citation mapping is in progress.
“A reliable, consistent sleep aid”
The mixed historical trial results don't support describing it as reliable.
