What it is
Epithalon is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring pineal-gland peptide, developed by Russian researcher Vladimir Khavinson's group. It's studied for effects on the sleep-wake cycle and, most famously, on telomerase activity and cellular ageing.
The telomerase and lifespan-extension claims trace back mainly to Khavinson's own animal and cell-culture work, which has been influential but is not independently replicated to the same degree in large Western human trials.
The science, graded
What’s claimed — and how strong the evidence behind each claim actually is.
“Supports healthy circadian rhythm / sleep cycle”
Some human data from the originating Russian research group; not independently replicated at scale.
Claim-level citation mapping is in progress.
“Activates telomerase / slows cellular ageing”
The headline claim, based mostly on animal and in-vitro telomerase studies.
Claim-level citation mapping is in progress.
“Extends human lifespan”
No human lifespan data exists — this is a large extrapolation from cell and animal biology.
Claim-level citation mapping is in progress.

What the community says
A longevity-community favourite precisely because of the telomerase story. Discussion tends to acknowledge the Khavinson-only evidence base while still being enthusiastic about the theory.
