What it is

Cagrilintide works on the amylin pathway, which affects appetite and satiety through a different mechanism than GLP-1 drugs. It's being developed mainly as a combination with semaglutide (branded CagriSema in trials), rather than as a standalone product.

Phase-3 trial data for the combination has shown meaningful additional weight loss over semaglutide alone. As of writing it is not yet an approved medicine — it remains in the regulatory approval pipeline.
