What it is

5-Amino-1MQ inhibits NNMT (nicotinamide N-methyltransferase), an enzyme that's been linked in animal studies to fat-cell energy metabolism and body weight regulation. It's grouped with peptides in most community discussion, though chemically it's a small molecule rather than an amino-acid chain.

The animal data (mainly in mice) is genuinely interesting from a metabolic-science standpoint. Human trial data at the doses marketed to consumers is essentially absent, which is an unusually large evidence gap even for this library.

The science, graded

What’s claimed — and how strong the evidence behind each claim actually is.

“Inhibits NNMT to support fat metabolism”

The core mechanism is real and mouse data is promising; NNMT-obesity link is an active research area.

“Produces meaningful human weight loss”

No published human trial data exists for this claim at consumer doses.

“Boosts NAD+ levels as a side benefit”

Plausible from the NNMT mechanism (it affects methyl-donor pathways connected to NAD+); not separately confirmed in humans.

What the community says

A newer entrant to metabolic-peptide discussion, riding some of the same interest as NAD+ and MOTS-c. Even enthusiastic posts tend to acknowledge the almost total absence of human data.
